"Decay" is inspired by a visit to Anni Albers exhibition at Tate Modern, a ragrug class, images of rust and my love of tweed.
It uses left over ragrug backing, tweed, wool, cotton strips and beads to reflect decaying, rust on a building.
It is in memory of "Eleri" who took me, as her guest, to a private viewing of the Anni Albers exhibition and, very sadly, passed away suddenly in 2021.

"This rag rug is made from many, many old woollen jumpers. They were washed on a hot wash so they would felt and then cut into small strips approximately 1 cm by 10 cm. I started with a couple of rows round the edge and then built it up from each end and the centre. I started it years ago but made it a project, for completion, in the first lockdown".
